Hello ^^, im working on a paper and its on Korean Drama vs American Drama. (If you have the time) What are you thoughts on the differences? How did you get into it? What site do you go to watch them? What attracts you to KDrama?! Thank - you!
Well the difference is that kdramas are more unrealistic but take you into a new and exciting life style of the rich, poor, medical, historical bringing out Korean Culture. Kdramas give more of a perspective and dont drag out too long with their foreshadowing and they build up the story (as well as give some life lessons). Also kdramas especially historical and melodramas have great actors and plots (you would never find in american dramas - since those kdramas break boundaries) that make you excited with the drama and characters in those dramas. American Tv shows are great as they are more realistic but some shows drag on for too long and the plot becomes projected in a difference perspective. However they do give off that vibe of how each plot in the episode will be carried out because its new.
I got into dramas after purchasing a drama (My Princess) recommended by a store owner. And then i got hooked by how different the plot of the story is compared to TV shows. While some of the plot maybe predictable the episodes were exciting as i as a viewer want to know how this will happen. Another example of a great drama is Bridal Mask. This drama was so unpredictable and the plot was so strong.
I watch dramas on gooddrama and drama.net
What attracts me to kdramas is the plot so interesting (like i said some predictable but interesting development). Also the experience to watch something that takes you into a fantasy like Boys Over Flower, Secret Garden, The Sun is my Master, etc, You who came from the Stars, etc.
